Special Events

The Amiga User's Group of Victoria has taken part in many special Amiga-related events. Some of them are described below.


Amiga Fest 98
Amiga Fest 98 took place in Albert Park on the 24th of October 1998. Lots of Amiga technology was on display. Check out the link above for details and photos.

Petro 's Visit
Petro Tsyschenko came to Melbourne and gave a talk to the members of the Melbourne Amiga Users Group and the Amiga Users Group of Victoria Inc. on Monday 11 January 1999.

The Alternative Computing Expo 2000 (ACE 2K)
The Alternative Computing Expo took place at Albert Park on 21-22 October 2000. The slogan was "If it's not Windows it's ACE." Macintoshes, Linux machines, the Acorn Archimedes and - of course - Amigas, were displayed. Amiga OS 3.5 was unveiled at this event.

Comdex IT Show - Melbourne 2001
The Amiga Users Groups of Australia got together (under the umbrella of the Amiga Downunder User Group (ADUG)) and hired a table at this mainstream computer show which ran from 5-7 September, 2001. The Amiga technology we displayed was very well received by the show attendees.

Comdex IT Show - Sydney 2002
In 2002 the Sydney Amiga Users Groups did their thing. AUG provided some financial support through ADUG.
